Sonia Samir, a Ph.D. student in Civil Engineering, was awarded student participation grant for the 2012 NSF-CMMI Research and Innovation Conference, July 9-12, 2012 Boston, Massachusetts. She will attend the conference and present a poster entitled "Evaluation of Methane Generation Potential of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) in a Closed Landfill." The participation grant was awarded based on her Master's research work, which was sponsored by the City of Denton, Texas. Sonia completed her Master's of Science (MS) in Civil Engineering in August 2011 and is currently working on her Ph.D. under supervision of CE Associate Professor, Dr. Sahadat Hossain.
