Drs. Sahadat Hossain (PI) and Melanie Sattler (Co-PI) received a new 3 year project from the City of Denton. The project title is "Monitoring Fugitive Emission of Landfill Gas and Performance of Gas Collection System in ELR landfill." The award amount for the project is $344,414. This is the second 3 year project for PI from City of Denton. Some of the technical tasks under the contract are presented here:

• Monitoring moisture content within the landfill solid waste using RI
• Monitoring fugitive emission and determining efficiency of gas collection system
• Monitoring temperature variation of permeable beds due to leachate recirculation
• Developing landfill mining methodology
