Other Scholarships

American Concrete Institue Scholarship
Eligible students are Civil Engineering juniors or seniors at UT Arlington who have been admitted to the upper division and have a 3.0 or higher grade point average.  Preference will be given to students who have an interest in concrete construction and who intend to pursue a career in the concrete construction industry.  Financial need will be given consideration and US citizenship or permanent residency is required.   $1,000 scholarship  awarded in two $500 increments.

CEC-T Tarrant County Chapter Scholarship
Full or part-time civil engineering juniors or seniors who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and are in good academic standing with UTA are eligible for consideration for this $1,000 scholarship.

Vidya and A. Kumar Palaniappan/Terradyne Endowed Fellowship
Graduate students specializing in Geotechnical Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering at UT Arlington are eligible for this fellowship.

V.T. Hancock Texas Water Utilities Association Environmental Scholarship (TWUA)
Eligible students are undergraduates who have unconditional admission to the civil engineering program and demonstrate an aptitude for success in engineering.  Selection will be based upon grade point average, strength of course work, aptitude and achievement scores, and significant and sustained involvement in worthwhile activities.  Financial need may be considered.  Current members, spouses, or children of members of the following district associations of the TWUA will be given preference over non-members:  Apollo, Blacklands, Metrocrest, Mid-Cities, North Central Texas, Texoma Land, Twin Basin, White Rock, and North Texas Chapter/Laboratory Analysis Section.

Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) Scholarshop
WTS is a national organization of transportation professionals with more than 3,000 members. The women and men who make up WTS are committed to excellence in the transportation industry. The organization provides a forum for the exchange of information, ideas and experiences; encourages the professional development of its members and promotes industry recognition of women in the field of transportation. The Dallas- Fort Worth Chapter offers two local scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students. Winners of the local scholarships will be forwarded to the national organization for consideration of the National undergraduate and graduate scholarships.

Part of the WTS goal of fostering the development of women in the field of transportation can be realized by encouraging bright new professionals to undertake careers in the area of transportation. The purpose of the scholarships awarded by WTS is to encourage women to pursue career paths in transportation. The scholarships are competitive and based on the applicant's specific transportation goals, academic record and transportation-related activities or job skills. Minority candidates are encouraged to apply. Financial need is not a primary consideration.
