There are
several "recognizable" symptoms of Chagas'
disease although these symptoms may be caused by other
factors. Several common symptoms are listed here. Do
you suffer from one or more of these?
Do you
or an acquaintance often feel tired and exhausted most
of the time (otherwise known as a feeling of malaise)?
This is common to people with Chagas' disease.
Are you
often unable to go to the bathroom for a long period
of time (constipation)? Do you feel full often when
you haven't eaten, or do you go for a long period of
time without feeling hungry? Do you feel pain in your
stomach, or is it getting larger? These are some common
symptoms of chagas.
Do you
or someone you know often feel an irregular heartbeat?
Does your pulse get weak? Often the heart is a target
for Chagas' disease.
Are you
having difficulty swallowing or keeping food and drink
down? Do you have frequent heartburn or regurgitation?
These symptoms, often accompanied by painful swallowing,
are shared by a large number of people with chagas.
Have you
awaken and found a bug bite, usually on the face?
Has swelling occurred around the bite area? Vinchucas
often bite
the face
and are carriers of Chagas' disease.
