CMAS has several on-going teaching, research, and community outreach programs.  Information on CMAS teaching programs is available elsewhere on this website, and includes the MAS minor and other courses taught by CMAS faculty to U.T. Arlington students.  The Center also sponsors an annual competition for the Manuel Gamio Scholarship Prize (information below).  UTA students who have taken MAS courses and meet other conditions are eligible.

The Center for Mexican American Studies in the College of Liberal Arts offers a minor for all students at U.T. Arlington. The minor in Mexican American Studies consists of an interdisciplinary curriculum that critically examines the historical and contemporary experiences of people of Mexican and other Latino descent in the context of American society and institutions.
