Advising

The Center for Mexican American Studies provides formal advising for students minoring in Mexican American Studies through the completion of a MAS degree plan via ongoing consultation with a member of the CMAS core faculty. Students interested in minoring in Mexican American Studies should contact Diana Botello, Administrative Specialist at 817-272-2933 in order to determine which of the CMAS core faculty are serving as faculty advisors and to have a faculty minor advisor assigned. The minor advisor will consult with the student on the Mexican American Studies degree plan, with special attention to the ways in which the minor will complement the student’s major course of study. It is very important that students consult with their CMAS minor faculty advisor as early as possible in the process, in order to ensure that they take the correct number and sequence of courses necessary to receive their certification as a Mexican American Studies minor. Students are always welcome to consult with CMAS faculty, even if they are unable to minor in Mexican American Studies, in order to discuss general career and academic advice involving our course offerings.
