Undergraduate Minor
The Center for Mexican American Studies in the College of Liberal Arts offers a minor for all students at U.T. Arlington. The minor in Mexican American Studies consists of an interdisciplinary curriculum that critically examines the historical and contemporary experiences of people of Mexican and other Latino descent in the context of American society and institutions.
Students selecting the Mexican American Studies minor should consult first with advisors in their departments or programs for approval of the minor, then with the director of Mexican American Studies. A Mexican American Studies minor consists of a total of 18 credit hours.
Students must take two required courses (MAS 2300 and MAS 4370), one foundational course (either MAS/SPAN 3312 or MAS/HIST 3368), and three electives chosen from the cross-listed courses that follow, or others approved by the director of Mexican American Studies.
