Why did you choose to attend UTA?
I chose to attend UTA because of its diversity. I really enjoy being able to interact with people of different cultures and learning from them. Another reason I chose UTA was because it is the perfect distance from my hometown, which allows me to visit my family on the weekends.
What is your favorite thing about the College of Education at UTA?
My favorite thing about the college of education is how passionate and caring the professors are. They really want to make sure that all of the future teachers are prepared to be the best educators out there. They make sure to give us all of the tools necessary not only for us to succeed but also to ensure that our future students are in good hands.
Who is your favorite professor? Why?
My favorite professor is Dr. Galloway. She is my favorite because she always goes out of her way to inspire us and she pushes us out of our comfort zone. The thing that I like the most about her is how during every class she always makes sure that we know that as educators we will have one of the world’s most important jobs.
What activities do you participate in outside of class?
Outside of class, I keep myself occupied. I currently work part time at Bed Bath and Beyond, I’m treasurer of The Collegiate Middle-Level Association, I play with the UTA Women’s Soccer Club, and most recently I became a COEd Student Ambassador.
What are your plans after you graduate?
After I graduate I hope to start my career as a Teacher. I would really love to have the opportunity of making an impact as soon as I graduate. I am truly so excited to start making learning fun for my future students!
What is one thing you think a prospective Education student needs to know?
One thing I think prospective Education students should know is that UTA’s College of Education is the place to be! The way the program is set up will ensure that all of the future teachers are equipped with the tools and experience necessary to be an outstanding educator.
