Why did you choose to attend UTA?
I chose UTA because I was wanting the college experience with the convenience of being close to home. Once I took a tour of the university I was immediately sold on the campus and the environment here at UTA!
What is your favorite thing about the College of Education at UTA?
You become close with your fellow classmates, and staff involved in the College of Education! You take the same classes together, and those familiar faces soon become friends and it’s great to have a support system.
Who is your favorite professor? Why?
My favorite professor is Dr. Peggy Semingson! Her webinars are super helpful for us not only as students but future educators as well! She uses technology to her advantage and she communicates very well with her students.
What activities do you participate in outside of class?
In my free time, I love to spend time with my 7-year-old son and see him play his sports. I also love to do yoga, and explore nature trails! The Bed Races would be the top event here on campus I look forward to every year!
What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan on teaching for about a year or two, then I will begin the Master’s program here at UTA where I would also like to pursue my special education and principal’s certification.
What is the one thing you think a prospective Education student needs to know?
It’s never too early to start looking at inspiration for your future classroom someday! Look at Pinterest and Instagram for the best teachers out there with great ideas, it only motivates you more to pursue your teaching degree!
