The Bilingual and English as a Second Language (ES) program falls under the Center for Bilingual and ESL Education (CBEE). The main purpose of the Center is to increase the number of certified bilingual/ESL and early childhood teachers. To accomplish its goal, Center has established the following programs to support school districts in their efforts to promote equity among culturally and linguistically diverse student populations.

  1. Bachelor of Arts in Child/Bilingual Studies with Early Childhood/Bilingual Teaching Certification.
  2. Master in Curriculum with specialization in bilingual education, English as a second language or early childhood education.
  3. Master in Teaching or a post baccalaureate degree program for initial teacher certification in bilingual education and English as a second language.

In addition to the academic programs, the Center created an articulation agreement with the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) to facilitate the transfer of bilingual education students to UTA.
