Definitions:

General Clearance: Your major advisor removes your advising hold, called a 'service indicator,' to allow you to register. With general clearance, you may register for any required core and basic courses which do not require special permission.

Permission: Some courses require special permission, such as MATH 1330, ENGL 2350 and all the Education courses. Even if you have already had your advising hold removed, you will need to contact the appropriate department to be allowed to register for a special permission course.

Education Course Clearance: An advisor places you on the permission lists for the College of Education courses you request so that you may register for them.

Registration Date: The date you can register. Registration for Summer and Fall begins April 7. However, your actual registration date will depend on the number of credit hours you have accumulated. Your registration date will be posted in your Student Center in MyMav.
