TO:  Students seeking initial secondary and all level certification

 RE:  Application for Fall Practicum & Practice Tests for Content TExES & PPR

March 1, 2007 is the deadline for application for fall 2007 practicum, EDUC 5315 for secondary and all level students.  Go to http://www.uta.edu/coed/fieldexperience/intern_res_app.doc for the application.  The application must be completed as instructed and submitted to the Field Experience Office.

In addition, if you plan to apply for and complete the Fall 2007 practicum, you must have taken the practice content test* (and the follow up review) AND the practice PPR test.  To move forward to EDUC 5315/Practicum, you must have taken both the content and the PPR practice tests. 

The dates for those practice tests are as follows.

• Practice Content Test, Thursday, May 3, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm (all graduate students seeking secondary certification should take the content practice test in the first semester of program enrollment unless they have undergraduate content coursework requirements)
• Practice PPR, Thursday, August 23, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm (the mandatory orientation for practicum is on this day as well)

You must register online for the practice test and review session at http://www.uta.edu/coed/texes/practice_sched.php. There is a $10 fee to take each practice test. 

*NOTE: The following teaching fields do not have a practice content test:  French, German, Spanish, Journalism, Speech, Theater Arts, All Level Art, Music & P.E.  Students in these teaching fields (except Music and P.E.) must complete a study assignment in lieu of the practice test.  Contact hadaway@uta.edu for that assignment.  Once you complete and submit this assignment, you can be cleared to move forward to take the TExES/ExCET content test.
