Superintendent Certification

The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies offers coursework and field experiences leading to Superintendent Certification. Upon completion of superintendency coursework, students are required to pass at 80% a practice test in order to be bar coded to sit for the state certification exam (TExES). With a passing score on the exam, evidence of the administrative certification, and appropriate years of service, candidates will be recommended to the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) for issuance of the certificate.

Some of the coursework required for the M.Ed. with Principal Certification and/or Superintendent Certification may be counted towards the SUPA Ph.D. Students interested in the Ph.D. should contact Dr. Rod Hissong, 817-272-3071, Fax 817-272-5008 or E-mail: lgordon@uta.edu.
