The College of Education at UTA is excited to welcome Dr. Ambra Green, Assistant Professor of Special Education. Dr. Green comes to UTA from the University of Missouri, where she focused on behavior disorders, positive behavior intervention and supports (PBIS) for individuals with disabilities. With the hiring of Dr. Green, the College of Education embarks on a commitment to create and develop a nationally-recognized teacher preparation program in special education.
Before serving at the University of Missouri, Dr. Green taught in Kyle, Texas. She has also provided professional special education consultation in a number of capacities, including for Missouri Senators Roy Blunt and Claire McCaskill. She is a national special education scholar with publications and a research focus on diverse learners with disabilities and issues of inequality and injustice for vulnerable populations.
“I am looking forward to working with my colleagues in the College of Education,” says Dr. Green, “to provide a high quality, nationally recognized special education teacher preparation program focused on implementing evidence-based practices and developing cultural competence that will provide effective teachers and critical researchers to the Dallas-Fort Worth Community.”
