College of Education presents 2017-2018 Teaching Awards

UTA’s College of Education honored six members of its faculty with Teaching Awards last week at the conclusion of the final fall faculty meeting. The awards were presented by Dr. John Smith, Professor and Associate Dean for Educator Preparation.

“This year’s award recipients are wonderful examples of excellence in teaching,” said Dr. Teresa Doughty, Dean of the College of Education. “Their commitment to high quality instruction, innovation, and student learning is evidenced by the success of our graduates and their impact on the education profession. Congratulations to each of them for this recognition!”

The following 2017-18 Teaching Awards were presented:

Award for Excellence in Teaching by a Clinical Faculty Member
Dr. Dana Owens

Award for Excellence in Teaching by an Untenured Faculty Member
Dr. Kathryn Pole

College of Education 2017-18 Award for Excellence in Teaching by a Tenured Faculty Member
Dr. Barbara Tobolowsky

Nominee for the Academy of Distinguished Teachers
Dr. Peggy Semingson

Nominee for the Piper Professor Award
Dr. Holly Hungerford-Kresser
