Academics

For Family and Guests

The Commencement Ceremony for the College of Education and Health Professions will be held on Saturday, December 15 at 2:00 p.m. in College Park Center on the UT Arlington Campus.

Parking

The UTA Police Department recommends that families and friends carpool as much as possible for the Commencement ceremony to alleviate traffic congestion. Parking for this ceremony is recommended in Lots 47, 53, F10, Lipscomb Lot, and Continuing Education. It is likely that lots north of the College Park Center may still be occupied from the previous ceremony when you arrive, but overflow parking is available north of the College Park Center in the College Park Garage on UTA Boulevard at Center Street, or in Lots 38, 39, F11, and F12. Please be aware that you may have to walk several blocks from your parking area to reach the College Park Center.

Drop-off Area

There will be a drop-off area for guests with mobility issues at Pecan and 3rd Streets and handicapped parking will be available in Lot F13 across Pecan Street, accessible from 4th Street. See www.utacollegepark.com/visit-us/map.php for locations.

Arrival

Guests are encouraged to arrive early to ensure proper seating. Doors will open one hour prior to each ceremony and live music will be provided by the UT Arlington Jazz Ensemble. All guests must have a ticket for entry and should enter the building through the north entry or northwest entry. Only graduating students will be allowed to enter through the west entry.

During the Ceremony

No outside food or drink will be permitted in College Park Center. Concessions will be available for sale. Graduating students may not have food or drink with them in their seating area.

After the Ceremony

Pecan Street will be closed between 3rd Street and 1st Street to provide a safe area for you to meet with your family after the ceremony. Please note that graduates will be exiting through the west entrance, while guests will leave through the north and northwest entrances. So plan to meet on Pecan Street, not at an entrance.
