Educators play a pivotal role in the development of the thinkers, leaders, and innovators of tomorrow. At the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, we recognize the importance of providing future teachers with the skills and knowledge they need to help young scholars achieve their full potential. We offer degree programs in elementary, bilingual and ESL, middle-level, and secondary education, as well as a variety of certifications. We’re also home to the Center for Social Studies Education, UTeach Arlington, and the Southwest Center for Mind, Brain, and Education.

Engaged Everyday

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction was named a UT Arlington “engaged department,” which means that it demonstrates a collective commitment to teaching and discovery for the common good. The Engaged Department Model was begun by the National Campus Compact in the 1990s.
