Theme and Core Values
The College of Education at The University of Texas at Arlington is one of the fastest growing preparers of educators and administrators in the state, growing from a Center for Professional Teacher Preparation to a College of Education in six short years. With a nationally acclaimed online graduate program and strong partnerships with schools, community colleges and businesses, graduates of the Educator and Administrator Preparation programs are among the most highly sought after in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
UTA College of Education is the first in Texas since 1987 to earn NCATE accreditation and the only NCATE accredited College of Education in the UT System. NCATE is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and numerous national organizations as the accrediting body for universities that prepare teachers and other professional personnel for work in P-12 schools. NCATE ensures that accredited institutions hold high standards and produce competent, caring, and highly qualified educators and administrators who have proven they can support the learning of all students.
In collaboration with partners from P-12 schools, community colleges, business and university colleagues, a Theme and eight Core Values were identified for faculty and candidates in the Educator and Administrator Preparation unit of the College.
The theme of the College of Education is Partners for the Future, representing
the College’s
strong commitment to the value of collaboration in the preparation of effective
educators and administrators.
The Core Values represent those characteristics believed to most exemplify effective educators and administrators. All decisions made in the unit are measured through the lens of the Core Values.
