The M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies
The Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies was collaboratively developed by UT Arlington and area school districts to instill the skills and background needed to become a campus principal or an assistant principal. This non-thesis principal certification program is fully aligned with the Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC) standards and designed for classroom teachers who want to advance in K-12 education. In our face-to-face and unique online delivery method, you can discover how you can build upon your existing expertise with progressive skills that can improve teacher retention and increase student achievement. M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Options
All Master programs are composed of a K-16 core set of courses and a set of specialized courses in each emphasis area. Contact the program advisers for more questions about coursework.
This is for students who wish to work in administration in a K-12 environment. Students who do not already hold a master’s degree must pursue the M.Ed. as opposed to the certification-only program.
This is a specialized Principal Certificate program. As many schools transition to Spanish immersion and dual-language programs, the need for administrators knowledgeable about the special needs of these programs increases. Ability to speak Spanish not required.
This degree option is designed for individuals who work in higher education and wish to enhance their administrative skills and abilities at the college and university level. It does not carry any certification for primary and secondary educational settings.
