Field Experience

We strive to provide excellent classroom experiences to nurture effective teachers. We will continue to update this web-site according to TEA (Texas Education Agency) and SBEC (State Board for Educator Certification) standards.

Here are the various levels of certification:

  • Early Childhood - Sixth Grade (EC-6) and Early Childhood - Sixth Grade Bilingual / ESL
  • Mid-Level (4-8)
  • Secondary (8-12)
  • All-Level (Music, Art and Kinesiology) (K-12)

Application for Field Experience can be found at http://ossa.uta.edu/field.asp. Read all instructions on the electronic site carefully. The following documents (found at http://ossa.uta.edu/field.asp) will be turned into the Office of Professional Development, Science Hall 323A by fall/spring deadlines.

  • 5 copies of the Field Application Confirmation page
  • 5 copies of your resume - download template (Word doc)
  • 1 copy of the signed Notification of Pending Criminal Background Check

Application Deadlines

Spring 2009 Internship, Residency, Practicum

Application submitted from September 1 – October 1. Any application received after October 1 will not be accepted.

Fall 2009 Internship, Residency, Practicum

Application submitted from January 2 – March 1. Any application received after March 1 will not be accepted.
