Department of Kinesiology

Chair's Welcome

Welcome to the Department of Kinesiology. I encourage you to fully explore our website to learn about our academic programs, nationally recognized faculty, and outstanding teaching and research facilities. You will discover that most of our department’s academic programming and research initiatives focus on the maintenance of a healthy lifestyle and the role of physical activity in preventing chronic disease (obesity, diabetes, heart disease). These focus areas are particularly emphasized within the Center for Healthy Living and Longevity.

Over the past few years, the Department of Kinesiology has experienced tremendous growth in student enrollment across all of our academic programs. We currently have more than 800 undergraduate majors and approximately 24 graduate students enrolled in our department. We are committed to providing quality educational programs that emphasize scientific theory, hands-on learning in the laboratory setting, and real-world application through clinical internships and other field-based experiences.

Thank you for your interest in the Department of Kinesiology. If I can be of any assistance to you, please don’t hesitate to contact me at
