Maintaining Major Status

Students accepted as Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science majors in the Department of Kinesiology must maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and a 3.0 in the major or they will be placed on departmental probation. Students who are on departmental probation are not allowed to take additional Kinesiology courses unless approved by the Department Chair. If students are unable to make up the GPA deficiency in the semester immediately following the probation, they will lose status as a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science major. All courses taken to make up the GPA deficiency must be completed at UT Arlington. If students are able to make up the GPA deficiency in the semester immediately following their loss of major status, they can be reinstated as a major by making application to the Exercise Science Adviser when grades are posted. No courses on the Exercise Science— CHP Track degree plan may be taken as pass/fail.
