Pete Tenney, the Radio Voice of the UTA Mavericks Basketball Teams will present “Professional Opportunities in Sports Broadcasting: When else is a broke guy the envy of his friends?” at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday November 11, 2009, 303 PEB. Pete has a Bachelor of Arts in Economincs with a minor in Broadcasting from Stanford University
Fifteen students have been awarded a combined $60,000 in scholarships for middle-level mathematics and science teacher certification.
Three UT Arlington professors were awarded a $10,000 grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Dr. James Warren (English), Dr. Holly Hungerford-Kresser (Education) and Dr. Kim Ruebel (Education) received the grant as part of the Texas College and Career Readiness Initiative. Read more >>
The new college readiness program will recruit 25 first-generation college students in different majors from the university to function as mentors to students at Arlington and Lamar high schools in the Arlington ISD.
