The University of Texas at Arlington has received the additional funding necessary to operate the UT Arlington and Arlington ISD College Readiness Program to prepare first-generation minority students for postsecondary education. . . . read more
Fifteen students have been awarded a combined $60,000 in scholarships for middle-level mathematics and science teacher certification.
The new college readiness program will recruit 25 first-generation college students in different majors from the university to function as mentors to students at Arlington and Lamar high schools in the Arlington ISD.
Three UT Arlington professors were awarded a $10,000 grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Dr. James Warren (English), Dr. Holly Hungerford-Kresser (Education) and Dr. Kim Ruebel (Education) received the grant as part of the Texas College and Career Readiness Initiative. Read more >>
