Dean’s Student Advisory Group

The College of Education and Health Professions established the Dean's Student Advisory Group in 2002 to provide a method of communication between students and administrators in the College.

Students are nominated by faculty and department chairs to serve on the Student Advisory Group. Typically, there are 12-15 students involved from the departments of Kinesiology, Curriculum and Instruction, and Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Graduate, undergraduate and distance learning students are all represented to give a balanced perspective.

The Student Advisory Group has given input on a variety of topics including academic programs, class scheduling and a code of ethics. In the fall of 2008, the group was one of several student groups interviewed by the National Council on Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) Board of Examiners who were on campus conducting the accreditation visit.

For more information or for ways to communicate your input to your student peers, please contact Dr. Jeanne Gerlach.
