Event Information
The
Fort Worth ISD Classroom at Cook Children’s provides school services for
approximately 100 – 120 children,
grades K – 12, each year. These school
services have been offered for over 20 years with patients either coming
to the
classroom for lessons or the teacher going to the patient’s bedside, depending
upon the status of their
illness or injury. Three teachers and one teacher’s
aide make up the staff of the classroom, and all have a special
gift for working
with these children.
Kappa Delta Pi's
first Bowling for Education tournament was held in 2007.
With the help of our title sponsor,
Meridian Bank of Texas, we raised $3,000 for the Cook Children's classroom.
They used
this donation to buy new
computers for the students. Our goal in 2008 was to
work hard and raise an even larger donation, which we did
with the help of
that year's title sponsor, Perry Aslyn Photography. We raised $3,600,
which allowed
the teachers
to finish paying off the computers and purchase new educational software.
Kappa Delta Pi
would like to give you the opportunity to help ‘strike up’ support for Cook
Children’s by participating
in Bowling for Education 2009. We are very excited about
this year’s campaign and the opportunities it presents.
Your help in reaching
our goal to help the young students and teachers at Cook Children’s will be much
appreciated.
