The Department of Communication at The University of Texas at Arlington invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in Journalism (pending budgetary approval). Journalism, Assistant Professor

UT Arlington seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Journalism beginning Fall 2010 (pending budgetary approval). Applicants with Ph.D.s are preferred; ABDs will be considered. Candidate should demonstrate a record of, or potential for, excellence in social scientific research, teaching, and service appropriate to the rank. The candidate should have significant professional experience in the print news field. Experience with and interest in online journalism is a plus. The candidate will be expected to teach reporting, writing, and editing classes in the journalism sequence and other communication classes according to experience and department needs. The ability to contribute to the department's M.A. in Communication is required. Applicants should submit a letter of application, vita, three letters of recommendation, a sample of on-going research, a sample of professional work [if applicable], and evidence of teaching effectiveness including a synopsis of teaching evaluations to the address below.
