Teaching
Professor Lopez-Preciado teaches the following courses in the advertising sequence:
Introduction to Advertising (ADVT 1345)
Integrated Marketing Communications Case Studies (ADVT 4300)
He has also taught Business Communication, Advertising Strategy, Copy Writing, and Communication Theory.
Research
Dr. Lopez-Preciado's research areas include the advertising industry in Latin America, Latino Identity in the U.S., and Multicultural Consumer Marketing. He uses both quantitative and qualitative methods in his research, including: surveys, focus groups, in-depth interviews, and legal research. He has presented his research at both international and national conferences, including the International Association of Media and Communication Researchers, the International Communication Association, the Arab-U.S. Association of Communication Educators, and the National Communication Association. His most recent work has looked at the Mexican advertising industry's adoption of the discipline of Account Planning.
