The UTA chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) will hold the group’s first general meeting of the semester today, Sept. 6.
Each month, PRSSA hosts guest speakers who work professionally in the public relations field to share work experiences and provide advice as students prepare for their own careers. PRSSA is a network of more than 10,000 college students interested in public relations and communication.
Today’s meeting will introduce the new slate of PRSSA officers and provide information about the organization. PRSSA President Kevin Luong said anyone interested in joining PRSSA or finding out more about the active student organization should plan to attend.
“It’s just to introduce who we are and what we do,” Luong said. “Anybody who is anybody, come on by.”
PRSSA meetings and other chapter-organized events throughout the semester provide students with networking opportunities, assist them in organizing professional resumes, provide interview tips and to gain insight into the public relations field.
PRSSA holds meetings at 3:30 p.m. the first Thursday of each month in Room 327 of the Fine Arts Building.
