Sports Medicine Lecture Series and Interprofessional Education Opportunities

Each year, the MSAT program invites speakers from a variety of athletic training, sports, and medical backgrounds to present as part of our Sports Medicine Lecture Series. Through these speakers and their presentations, our program is able to:

  1. Provide further insight into the prevention, assessment, treatment, management, and rehabilitation of injuries that occur to physically active individuals
  2. Allow students the opportunity to learn more about potential work settings for certified Athletic Trainers
  3. Promote interprofessional education among healthcare providers

Over the history of the lecture series, a variety of speakers have presented at the workshop including Athletic Trainers working at the high school, college, professional, and clinical/corporate settings. In addition, our lecture series has had a multitude of related healthcare providers speak such as orthopedic surgeons, osteopathic physicians, physical therapists, and paramedics.
