CONHI Honored by Senate Resolution
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, National Nurses Week is being celebrated May 6-12, 2017, and this occasion provides a fitting opportunity to recognize one of the state's premier nursing programs, the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at The University of Texas at Arlington; and
WHEREAS, With an enrollment of approximately 17,000 students, the College of Nursing and Health Innovation is the largest not-for-profit college of nursing in the country as well as the largest producer of baccalaureate educated nurses in Texas; it is one of the only three nursing programs in Texas and one of the only a dozen in the country to be designated centers of excellence by the National League of Nursing, and its online nursing program is ranked one of the best of its kind nationally; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the college confers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees on more than 3,000 students; in addition, it attracts millions of dollars in funded research, and it boasts 11 state-of-the-art labs and a team of faculty members who are world-renowned scientists in areas such as cancer, heart disease, and aging; and
WHEREAS, By maintaining high standards of excellence in education and research, the College of Nursing and Health Innovation is preparing students for success in a high-demand career field while also making vital contributions to the future of health care, and it is a pleasure to join in recognizing the exemplary efforts of all those associated with the college; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at The University of Texas at Arlington be honored on the occasion of National Nurses Week and that its faculty, staff, and students be extended sincere best wishes for the future.
