Kinesiology students excel at state convention
UTA’s kinesiology students distinguished themselves at the annual meeting of the Texas chapter for the American College of Sports Medicine in Austin earlier this spring, picking up awards in several events.
Sara Peper, Darian Trojacek and Adam Luna placed second in the student bowl, beating out 17 other teams. Jake Samuel, a PhD in kinesiology student, finished second in the PhD poster competition. Judges cited Jake for the quality of his research and his presentations. Jordan Patik, another PhD in kinesiology student, won three awards for his research. Patik, Samuel and four other students – Brandi Stephens, Bryon Curtis, Jake Samuel and Ryan Rosenberry – were named finalists in the poster competition because of the quality of their research.
