College of Science Fall 2014 Graduation Information
Dear Graduation Candidate:

Congratulations on your anticipated graduation from the UT Arlington College of Science! Our ceremony celebrating fall graduates is scheduled for Friday, December 12 from 3-5 p.m. in College Park Center (CPC) on the UT Arlington campus. Please note that the College of Science does not require an additional RSVP or registration to participate in the ceremony. If you are receiving this message you are on the list for graduation. Graduates should arrive at the west entry of CPC for check-in between 1:30 and 2:15 p.m. No rehearsal is required, but it is important that you arrive on time so that you can receive all the necessary instructions. Guests will enter CPC through the north or northwest entrances, which will open at 2 p.m. for guest seating.

Tickets are required for all guests attending the ceremony, including children. Guests must arrive with printed tickets. Tickets cannot be scanned from the screen of a smart phone, iPad, or other electronic device. Graduates will also be required to present a separate ticket for backstage admission. Be sure to print your graduate ticket when accessing tickets for your guests and bring it with you to the ceremony!

The procedure for ticket distribution has been changed – please read these instructions carefully:

Ticketing Offer #1: November 18 – December 1

You will receive an email via your student account (Mav Mail) by 12 p.m. with instructions on how to claim your graduate ticket, up to 6 guaranteed guest tickets reserved in your name, and up to 4 additional guest tickets while quantities last. You must claim your tickets during this first offer to receive the six guaranteed tickets! This offer will expire at noon on Monday, December 1 , at which time your reserved guest tickets will no longer be available. All unclaimed guest tickets will be returned to a central ticketing pool.

Ticketing Offer #2: December 2 – December 8

You will receive an email via Mav Mail by 12 p.m. with information on how to claim additional guest tickets from the central ticketing pool, if available, while quantities last. Students who have not claimed their graduate ticket may do so at this time. This offer will expire at noon on December 8.

Ticketing Offer #3: Starting Dec 8

You will receive an email via Mav Mail with information on how to claim additional stand-by tickets, if any are available. Seating for stand-by ticket holders is not guaranteed and will be based on availability of seating in College Park Center at the time of the ceremony. Please note that graduate tickets will no longer be available during this offer.

Parking for the ceremony is available in the Park South, Park Central and Park North Garages on Center Street between UTA Boulevard and CPC. Additional parking is available in Lots 38, 39, F11, F12, 47, 53, F10, and at Lipscomb Hall and the Center for Continuing Education. There will be a drop off for guests with mobility issues at Spaniolo Drive and 3rd Street, and handicapped parking will be available in the Park South Garage See http://www.utacollegepark.com/visit-us/map.php for locations. Please be sure that guests are aware that they may have to walk several blocks from parking areas to reach CPC.

Spring 2014Graduation
Please notify your guests that graduates will exit the arena through a private exit onto Moritz Plaza on the north side of CPC. Guests will exit through the north, northeast and northwest entrances, and should plan to meet graduates on Moritz Plaza. It may be helpful to identify a meeting spot in that area prior to the ceremony. Please make your guests aware that helium balloons and strollers are not allowed in CPC, and should be left in their vehicle. If these items are brought to CPC, they must be checked at Guest Services prior to the ceremony.

Be aware that you may be standing for long periods of time, so please wear comfortable shoes. If you have any mobility issues, please notify Lori Norris no later than December 1 so appropriate accommodations can be arranged (817-272-3494 or norris@uta.edu.)

Because there is no secure storage area backstage during the ceremony and you will not return backstage, no personal items should be brought backstage, including purses, keys, cameras, sunglasses, etc. This includes cell phones! Please leave all personal items locked in your car out of sight, or with your guests.

Please stop by the UT Arlington Bookstore or call them at 817-272-2785 for complete information on ordering caps and gowns. Please note that the cost of regalia will increase by $15 on November 12, so purchase early! Masters and doctoral candidates should contact the Bookstore immediately to order regalia for the ceremony, if you have not already done so.

Graduation announcements are optional; if desired, they can be ordered online at www.jostens.com.

FLASH Photography will photograph each graduate during the commencement ceremony. Complimentary proofs will be mailed to the graduates soon after the ceremony. If you have any questions, please contact Flash Photography via their website at: www.FLASHphotography.com.
