GK-12 Fellowships:

Amount Recipients of these fellowships receive a stipend of $30,000 per year and up to $10,500 in education costs toward tuition, fees, books, educational material and health insurance.

In order to be considered for the GK-12 Fellowship, candidates must be
• U.S. citizens or permanent residents
• M.S. or Ph.D. students who have begun thesis research in mathematics (students in mathematics education are not eligible)
• All applicants must be able to clear necessary AISD background checks

Recipients of GK-12 fellowships must be available to
• Participate fully in the two-week GK-12 MAVS Summer Professional Development Institute (July 15–19 and July 22-26, 2013),
• collaborate (possibly electronically) with mentor teacher partners during the month of July, 2013,
• spend 10 hours per week in a middle or high school classroom during the Arlington ISD academic year,
• spend an additional 5 hours per week during the academic year working with teachers in the Arlington ISD to develop lesson activities as well as submit required reports and logs,
• develop and implement original learning modules based on research questions currently under investigation,
• participate in weekly GK-12 MAVS seminars and all other required GK-12 activities including attending the CAMT Conference July 2014
