Donor Profile RALPH H. RODICK, SR.,was born on June 24, 1926 to Harry and Mildred Rodick in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ralph joined the City of Kenner (Louisiana) Fire Department. He rose through the ranks of the Department and obtained the rank of Assistant Chief. Ralph was also a volunteer firefighter in the Kenner Volunteer Fire Company. During his career in the fire service, Ralph was a mentor to many young firefighters. Ralph was easily able to lead firefighters at a fire scene and, if needed, he would follow the lead of others. Ralph ran into burning buildings, fought fires at air crashes, train wrecks and auto collisions to save the lives and property of others. His lasting impression on the Kenner Fire Department was only surpassed by his impact on his family and friends. His sons both chose careers which allowed them to serve the City of Kenner, and his eldest daughter joined the Kenner Volunteer Fire Company, in part, because of her father's influence. Ralph was also a highly influential mentor to young people who were not a part of his family. Ralph Rodick, Sr. was a mentor, leader, and a gentleman. He gave of himself and was an influential member and protector of the community. After having retired from an illustrious career in firefighting, Ralph H. Rodick, Sr. passed away on May 6, 1993.
