Patricia Eddings is a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Mississippi College and her Master of Science degree in Pharmacy with a concentration in Forensic Science from the University of Florida.
Ms. Eddings has over thirty-seven years of experience in various areas of forensic science with the majority of time spent as a trace evidence analyst. She was formerly employed as a Trace Analyst with the Jackson Police Department Crime Laboratory, MS. Crime Laboratory and the New Mexico Department of Public Safety Crime Laboratory, as a Medical Examiner Assistant with the MS Medical Examiner’s Office and spent twenty-two years as a Senior Trace Analyst with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office Crime Laboratory. Ms. Eddings has been qualified and testified as an expert witness in twelve states.
Throughout her career, Ms. Eddings has taught on a part-time basis at Mississippi College, the University of Southern Mississippi, the University of North Texas Health Science Center and the University of Texas at Arlington. Her research interests include general forensics, forensic trace analyses, forensic death investigation and crime scene reconstruction.
