Visiting Assistant Professor and Director of The Center for Criminal Justice Research and Training

Rick Smith is the Director of The Center for Criminal Justice Research and Training and a visiting assistant professor with the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice. Prior to coming to UTA, he held high level administrative positions at the Arlington, Texas, Police Department and the St. Petersburg, Florida, Police Department. He also served as Public Safety Director for the City of Southlake, Texas. He earned a B.A. from Florida Presbyterian College and an M.A. from The University of South Florida. He earned his Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Arlington.
