SCJS-Society of Criminal Justice Students

The purpose of the Society of Criminal Justice Students (SCJS) is to promote the study of criminology and criminal justice, academic excellence, professionalism, and the strengthening of the community at The University of Texas at Arlington. We accomplish these goals in many ways, such as hosting trips to Texas-area prisons and Texas Rangers baseball games. We have guest speakers from community criminal justice agencies share their knowledge and experience with our students several times per semester. We also give back to the community by having toy drives and volunteer opportunities with local agencies and groups.

If you are interested in becoming a member of SCJS or simply learning more about us, please contact SCJS director, Amber Owens at amber.owens@uta.edu. Our co-director is Professor Bola Fenny, and she can be reached at omobolanle.fenny@uta.edu.
