One on One Counseling

Cross Timbers Procurement Center provides counseling and information regarding marketing their products and services to the Department of Defense, other federal agencies, State of Texas and local governments in our 61 county service area. We help our clients understand the requirements for doing business with governments and helping them identify key decision makers within target agencies. We help our clients:

  • Identify marketing opportunities.
  • Help with the preparation and submission of bids and proposals.
  • Advise and assist clients concerning post award functions. As a minimum, the assistance includes:

(1) Production
(2) Quality Systems
(3) Accounting system requirements, and contract payments
(4) Transportation
(5) Packaging
(6) Subcontracting
(7) Property
(8) Wide area workflow

  • Help clients understand federal, state and local government contracting laws, policies and procedures. Emphasis are placed on requirements and procedures used by DOD and other Federal agencies in the acquisition of commercial products and services.
  • Advise and assist clients in pursuing and securing subcontracting opportunities from government prime contractors including those that have subcontracting plan obligations pursuant to FAR clause 52.219-9 or similar clauses.
  • Provide any other procurement technical assistance related training that may directly assist clients in obtaining or performing on government contracts and subcontracts.
  • Maintain regulations and publications, either printed or on electronic media, (or identify sources for obtaining) that govern Federal, State and local government procurement, as applicable. Assist clients in understanding and using these regulations and publications.
  • Help develop company capability statement

Outreach Events

The Cross Timber Procurement Center sponsors numerous outreach events through the year. Our outreach events include how to do business with prime contractors and government agencies. We also participate in outreach events sponsored by others.  See Calendar of events for latest.


CTPC workshops train customers on government contracting, writing technical proposals, contract negotiations, developing federal marketing plans, prime contractor awards, federal sponsored Mentor Protégé Agreements and other related subjects. See for list of workshops.
