Wayne Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS), and a Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer (CBIST). Wayne was trained as a sign language interpreter and primarily works with students diagnosed with hearing impairments as well as with students diagnosed with traumatic/acquired brain injury. He also has significant experience working with students diagnosed with learning disabilities.
Education Includes:
- AAS in Interpreting for the Deaf from Tarrant County College in 1985
- BS in Vocational Rehabilitation from the University of North Texas in 1988
- MS in Rehabilitation Services Administration with an emphasis in Counseling from the University of North Texas in 1991
Wayne has been involved in the field of rehabilitation, education and counseling for more than 20 years with experience ranging from post-secondary education, post acute rehabilitation, vocational consulting and community mental health. Wayne has served on several boards of directors with disability related organizations. He has also presented disability related topics at several conferences and workshops.
