Our office is entrusted with ensuring that Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the tenets of the American's with Disabilities Act (ADA), are followed at the University of Texas at Arlington. The intent of these laws, as they apply to a university setting, are to guarantee equal access to education for persons with disabilities.

The Office for Students with Disabilities attempts to guarantee equal access by removing possible barriers, both in on-campus structures and in the classroom environment. This is done through counseling, referral, assistive technology, interpreters, reasonable accommodations, and the provision of disability related information.
