Message From the Director

Dr. Dianne P. Hengst

Director/Assistant Dean of Students

Welcome, all new and returning students to The University of Texas at Arlington! On behalf of the entire disability services staff, I want to congratulate you on your choice to attend the University of Texas at Arlington. As part of our commitment to a diverse campus culture, I also want to let you know that our office and staff is dedicated to the inclusion of students with disabilities in all educational programs offered at the University.

This is very exciting time in higher education and as many of you may know, self-advocacy and self-determination skills are critical to a successful experience for all college students. The staff in the Office for Students with Disabilities is committed to working with you as a student and to help you attain your educational goals. With this as part of our guiding philosophy, our staff would like to get to know you as a student and member of the UT Arlington community. In order to make this happen, we hope you will work closely with the disability services staff and your professors/instructors to help make sure that everything you need in terms of supports and/or accommodations are in place and ready when you begin classes.

Again, congratulations on attending UT Arlington and we look forward to working with all of you in the future. I invite you to visit with us if you have more questions regarding our services. Best wishes for a wonderful academic year!

Go Mavs!!!
