Services for Faculty/Staff
Distance Education Technologies
Blackboard is a Web–based learning management system (LMS). Every course–section and their respective student enrollments are automatically populated into Blackboard daily. Instructors can use Blackboard to teach a fully online course or as a rich supplement to the on-campus classroom.
Blackboard also has a tool, called Organizations, for content that is not course-specific. Organizations are ideal for user groups that do not function in the typical course setting such as advising, tutoring, or sharing departmental resources. You may add surveys, upload files, and even create tests within an Organization. Please visit the Blackboard Resources website for information on accessing and using organizations.
Log in to Blackboard with your UTA NetID.
Adobe Connect is an online tool that allows live, virtual presentations. Share your computer’s display, a PowerPoint presentation, a PDF, or ask a participant to share content with you. Communicate via voice, chat, and even webcam video with voice. This online format works well for departmental meetings, office hours, advising or tutoring sessions, test reviews, and much more.
Instructors can use Weblogs for course journals, supplemental information, and many other creative applications for either public or private viewing.
