Microscopic and Macroscopic Energy Conversion, Power electronics, Modeling and stability assessment of multi-converter systems.

Background

Dr. Babak Fahimi has received PhD in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University in 1999. During 1999-2002 he was a research scientist at Electrostandards laboratories Inc. in Cranston, RI. Dr. Fahimi was with the department of electrical and computer engineering at University of Missouri-Rolla during 2002-2004 as an assistant Professor. He is the recipient of Richard M. Bass young power electronics investigator award from IEEE power electronics society in 2003, the Office of Naval Research young investigator award in 2004, and German academic exchange international fellowship in 1993-1995. He has authored over 80 technical papers, several book chapters including a chapter in John Weily Encyclopedia on electrical and electronics engineering. He holds two US patents and has several pending. Dr. Fahimi is the editor for IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion , an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, and technical program chair for international conference on electric machinery and drives, 2005 San Antonio, TX. He is also a senior member of IEEE as well as a member of society of automotive engineers (SAE).
