Areas of Expertise

Power electronics, space power applications, high voltage techniques, conventional power system analysis, computer simulation of electrical components and systems.

Background

Dr. Dillon has industrial experience in protective relay component selection and installation, specification and procurement of data telemetry and power system control equipment, and switchgear installation with Dallas Power and Light Co. (1965-1969). In 1973-1974, he served on the Research Priorities Committee of the Electric Power Research Institute while employed by the Consolidated Edison Company of New York. In recent years he has been engaged in space power research including the SPEAR projects, high voltage dc-dc conversion, and novel power generation techniques.
