Background
Kevin Le received his B.S.E.E and M.S.E.E from University of Texas at Arlington in 1999 and 2001 respectively. He joined Lucent Technologies Bell-Labs in 1999, where he worked in the power electronics R&D department. Later, he joined the high-speed fiber optics R&D group at Alcatel. While at Alcatel, he was responsible for the research and development of optical multiplexers, optical laser diode pumps for EDFA optical amplifiers and wavelength lockers for DWDM optical communication systems. He received his Ph.D in electrical engineering from University of Texas at Arlington in 2005 and joined Williams-Pyro, Inc. as a research scientist where he was responsible for the research and development of optical MEMS sensors and microelectronics for space applications, projects funded by United States Department of Defense (DoD). Dr. Le is currently a research scientist at LURACO Technologies, Inc. where he is leading the research and development of toxic chemical gas sensing networks, condition based monitoring products, and government funded research projects.
Dr. Le is a peer reviewer for "Pure and Applied Optics Journals" and "International Journal of Optomechatronics". He has authored and coauthored more than 20 technical papers in journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Le is a member of the IEEE-Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and SPIE-The International Society for Optical Engineering.
