Background
Jason Losh received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1994 with research in the areas of RF, electromagnetics, and signal processing for fast acquisition magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems.
Dr. Losh joined the Cellular Infrastructure Group at Motorola in May 1994 where he currently holds the position of Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff. He has actively worked to help develop the IS-95/cdma2000™ family of standards for the over ten years which is the wireless phone technology used by companies such as Verizon Wireless and Sprint PCS. He also works as a member of the base station RF group and addresses radio regulation affairs for CDMA systems with the FCC and international regulatory bodies.
Dr. Losh returned to UT Arlington in 2001 as an adjunct faculty member. He currently teaches the undergraduate microprocessor design course and the graduate microprocessor and embedded microcontroller courses.
Dr. Losh holds three patents with several others pending
Dr. Losh currently is the Chair of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR45.5 WG-III Physical Layer Working Group and the Chair of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project 2 (3GPP2) TSG-C WG-IV cdma2000™ Performance Group. He also serves in 4 other sub-working group chair and vice-chair positions.
