Background
Dr. Wang currently is working for Verizon. He joined GTE, which later merged with Bell Atlantic and became Verizon, in 1990. He is responsible for network architecture design for various services. He was involved in the ADSL Internet access trial in 1996. He also participated in the fiber to the node VDSL trials for video broadcast and video on demand. Currently, he is working on the voice over IP service architecture.
From 1980 to 1990, Dr. Wang was employed by Bell Laboratories. He was involved in network performance analysis and measurement. He developed several network performance measurement systems.
Dr. Wang was a research associate in Montefore Hospital, University of Pittsburgh from 1978 to 1980. He conducted research in image processing and pattern recognition for CT scan. He also served as a adjunct assistant professor at the E.E. Department, University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Wang is a senior member of IEEE. He was awarded Asian American Engineer of the year by Chinese Institute of Engineers in 2002. He has one patent.
