Background
Ali Davoudi is currently an assistant professor in Electrical Engineering department of the University of Texas at Arlington. He directs the educational and research activities in the Renewable Energy Systems and Vehicular Technology technical area. Dr. Davoudi received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, The University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, and the University of Illinois, Urbana, USA in 2003, 2005, and 2010, respectively. He was a visiting scholar at the University of British Columbia from Feb until Dec. 2005. He was a visiting lecturer as well as a post-doctoral research associate at the University of Illinois from March until August 2010. For his educational activities, he has been honored twice in the University of Illinois's campus-wide teachers ranked as excellent. For his research endeavor, Dr. Davoudi has received International Student Fellowship, Henry Ford II scholar award and M E. Van Valkenburg Graduate research award. He also conducted industrial research for Philips Electronics, Texas Instruments, and SolarBridge Technologies. His research interests are modeling, simulation, and control of grid-interconnected renewable energy sources, finite-inertia power systems, energy harvesting, and energy source diversification.
