PSpice Assignment No. 5

Due October 27, 2009

Hint: Set your browser to print in Landscape mode before printing this page.

Given: An elementary model of an operational amplifier is shown below.

Simple Op-Amp Subcircuit

This model has no saturation level, but exhibits the high gain of an op-amp. Note that only four nodes should be made available to the external circuit. The above circuit should be made a PSpice subcircuit. See PSpice Tutorial No. 3 for details on how to create a subcircuit. You will use the subcircuit in the two-stage amplifier circuit shown below.

Two-Stage Amplifier

Required: Use PSpice to analyze the above two-stage amplifier circuit with op-amps X1 and X2 modeled as the subcircuit shown in the top figure. Determine the overall "gain" of the amplifier; i.e., the ratio of vo to vg. Create a separate text file named PS05.TXT with your PSpice text editor which contains the single line: "The overall gain of the amplifier is (your number here)."

Submit your printed "PS05.CIR," "PS05.OUT" and "PS05.TXT" files.
