Student-Professional Awareness Conference (SPAC)
April 8th 2011

The UT Arlington Student Branch of IEEE sponsored a Student-Professional Awareness Conference (SPAC).  SPACs explore the subjects that affect engineers’ careers, regardless of how well engineers prepare themselves technically.  Students listen to experienced engineers from diverse backgrounds discussing topics from the six critical categories: career growth, working, professional ethics and social responsibility, self-management, engineers and public policy, and the importance of professional societies.   Details and Photos


 

Undergraduate Research Scholars Poster Session
May 4th 2011

The Department of Electrical Engineering hosted an Undergraduate Research Scholars Poster Session.  Nine students participated and produced very high quality posters.  Details and Photos


 

Mobile Microrobotics Challenge
May 9-13th 2011

The National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) organized the Mobile Microrobotics Challenge during the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, held in Shanghai, China, from May 9-13, 2011. UT Arlington’s Microrobotics Team, hosted in Dr. Dan Popa’s Multiscale Robotics and Systems Lab, was one of only seven teams around the world who qualified to participate in the event. The team was composed of Electrical Engineering’s M. Rashid Pac (Ph.D. student), Justry Weir (B.S.E.E. student), James Curzan (B.S.E.E. student), Kunal Raithatha (M.S.E.E. student), and Associate Professor Dan Popa (faculty advisor).   Details and Photos
